Photography had always been a big part of my family judging from the insurmountable number of albums strewn about our family home. But it was my mother who was the pot-shot artist blinding us all with flashes and forcing us kids to grimace for family photos. Being a very late bloomer in photography at the age of 30, my father gifted me a Pentax film SLR. And I guess as they say, the rest was history. Dabbling in weddings, fashion runway shows and event photography, burning out 4 years later and retiring. 19 years later, in 2024, my pent-up yearning for creating images reignited and it has been a journey of self-discovery and creativity. The last year and a half have been back to basics shooting film and absolutely re-falling in love with the processes. As my late mentor Alan Lee used to say, ‘Lock and load, cowboy! And change the colour!’ (Something about drinking copious amounts of whiskey) =)~
